My choice CDs

Post by rcmf2u on Mon Jul 06, 2009 9:25 pm

Hi everyone, here's my recommendations audiophile choice CDs. Hope you can get your hands on one of these. May not be for everyone, but these CDs are difficult to get in Malaysia. Singapore is a good choice but even then, it's limited.

1. Warriors Of Heaven & Earth (TUYA/SONY/DSD version, not the general Sound Track CD)
Composer AR Rahman (from Slump Dog Millionaire!!!). Wonderful music score, & system test.
2. Takedake (Original import from Japan version). Excellent for bass lovers, plenty of impact & imaging pinpointing!
3. Koji Tamaki (Red Wine No Kokoro)(Original Import form Japan version) Wonderful Japanese vocals. Need to listen to appreciate!
4. Meet Me In London (Original NIAM label). Excellent guitar & vocals.

For more info/images on the audiophile CDs you can email: rcmf@streamyx.com or sms 0198841802.

Hi rcmf2u,

You really know some of the audiophile especially because the cd you posted are now very hard to get & I'm still looking for item no. 3. I had item 1, 2 & 4. You are right that it's easy to get it in Singapore. Do you know where can I get the Koji Tamaki album because in Singapore also very hard to get. If you like item no. 1, you will like this album by the title Rhythmize Heartstrings which had very good recording & now they have volume 2 also. I saw both in Penang Gurney Plaza before.

Hi sskong,

Yes, I can get from cdjapan but the price is very expensive. Thanks for the link. Since we are talking about cd, anyone out there know where to get Sheffield lab cd because now is so hard to find any except the some recent pressing normal cd like : The Sheffield Drum & Track Audiophile Test Disc & Step by Pat Coil. I look for some like : The Power Of Seven, The Moscow Sessions & Tower Of Power Direct.
I do had some like :

Adam Makowicz The Name is Makowicz
MARGIE GIBSON SAY IT With Music
James Newton Howard & Friends - Sheffield Lab Gold
Amanda McBroom Lincoln Mayorga WEST OF OZ
Sheffield lab cd The Moscow Sessions/Moscow Phil Orch- Vol 1
KODO Heartbeat Drummers of Japan - Sheffield Lab Gold

How about sellers from Ebay?
I bought my stash of Sheffield Lab (perhaps a dozen 1st pressings) long long ago. I've had some opinion that it still doesn't beat the LP versions, but thats another story.
