Re: adaptors for 45rpm records
Rega came out with these not too long ago and can easily order one from Ebay. Technics are still producing these and can get from Sim Lim Tower Technics distributor there. Last resort, try finding them from junked TT's. Nearly every Japanese TT in those days have one as standard accessory but usually lost to oblivion from junked TT's found here. Ironically, the British TT makers never bothered to supply one (refering to Linn and Rega).
I still have mine with my Quartz Technics TT. I think SL1200Mk2 adapter is made from aluminium.
Come to think of it, I may try design and custom lathe one out of stainless steel in future. But then again...very seldom play 45's.
As an alternative, I've seen on Ebay that offer a 45 record plastic insert adapter in packs of 5 or 10 (unsure) Just buy enough and fit them all to your 45's and solves the problem permanently.

I know ebay have tons of them for sale but I was hoping one of the local shops sells them so I can just drop by and pick up what I need.

I think you may have some luck by approaching some sellers at Amcorp Mall lower level (those that sell used TT's and LP's). I ain't sure if Asia Sound there have the Rega adapter.

Why are you asking? Surely not for your new TT. If Linn's adaptor works for you, I have one. Let me know?

Re: adaptors for 45rpm records
just get the measurements for a typical adapter, and get some Engr shop to machine it out to your specs lah. U can even choose what material u want, (mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or even P.U. like what they do for custom bushings, etc etc ).
U can even experiment with diff materials, paint or chrome coatings, and shapes and contours to "tailor" the sound u want.
The possibilities are endless..... for your beloved 45rpm discs.
Hmmm... Just wondering.,
Mebbe drill a hole thru a spare unused "shun mook" disc, shave the edges abit, and it just make a great sounding 45rpm adapter puck ?

Re: adaptors for 45rpm records
I actually have one I was using and that was from an old japanese turntable. But it can't be used now as the spindle tapers from top to bottom, the top part being slightly too big for the adapter to be put it. I tried pushing it in but ended up quickly abandoning the attempt when I realized the tremendous pressure I must be subjecting the bearing to.
There are some nice music from the mid to late 1990 era, at least to my taste and those are mainly only avialable on 45's or 12" singles. But most 12" singles are those club/d.j. mixes with only the very rare exceptions with the original version.
There are some 'precision machined aerospace grade aluminium' adapters available on eBay. Bekside itchy.... am thinking to getting one of those to try out. Like most audiophiles, I am an absolute -sucker- for things like 'aerospace grade', 'military spec', 'precision machined', '1micron tolerance', and so forth !!
