Description – This sale is for one 3.28ft Cello Strings 5 Digital AES/EBU Balanced XLR Cable. This is a high quality reference 110 Ohm digital cable used for connecting digital devices to each other.
This is a new factory terminated cable. It was developed near the end of the Cello Ltd legacy for their attempt at penetrating the home theater market. Cello Ltd became interested in the integration of digital sources, DACs and multi-channel systems along side of their reference 2 channel systems. This cable was designed to connect high quality digital sources to the Cello Reference DAC(Cello RDAC) via a 110 Ohm Digital AES/EBU XLR terminated connection.
This cable is made from the highest quality Litz cable and was manufactured for Cello Ltd. by the company who made the FIRST litz cable in the United States. These are extremely expensive cables to produce and are made to military specifications. This litz digital cable provides a reference sound for your audio system. This is used for a specific purpose to connect digital equipment which requires a 110 Ohm cable specification. These have been tested and provide excellent sound on several sources including Esoteric Dual Digital 110 Ohm Links which connect the p-03 to the D-03 as well as connections from Day-Sequerra HD Radio Tuners to Reference DACs for D/A conversion.

XLR balanced digital input/output sockets or terminals,
use this method of connecting these two hi-fi components
because this is the highest industry standard
form of digital connection rather than
using S/PIDF Co-axial (RCA type)
or TosLink (Fibre-Optic type) digital connections.
AES/EBU requires special cables that possess a higher
impedance of 110 ohms. Cello Strings 5 AES/EBU
is a high-end XLR balanced digital interconnects.
