Pioneer LD player repair
Hello all,
Does anyone knows a technician that can fix a Pioneer LD player? I haver sent my unit back to Pioneer HQ in Jalan Sultan Ismail. They mentioned that the head is damaged and needs replacing. However, they have discontinued the manufacturing of spare parts for my unit.
If Pioneer does not carry anymore of the spare parts, do you think the head can still be sourced out by independent technician?
Thanks.

Re: Pioneer LD player repair
Consider buying another used but working LD player. They do turn up for cheap at junkyards, recycling centers or used goods shops from past owners throwing them away. (don' ask me where) but no way of telling if they're working or not but some chance the head can be salvaged for possible replacement. Tedious and risky affair but could prove well worth it. I think most manufacturers have discontinued any LD parts inventory for quite sometime, considering plain DVD (not BR) players are also seeing its end. That reminds me of having a Pioneer player too in my store collecting dust..will play with it one day, still have a sizeable collection of LD's.

Thanks CMBoy,
Have to go around some electrical repair shops.
Do tell me if you are planning to let go of your LD player
