Yamaha Electronics Corporation introduced its best-in-class 7.1 channel A/V digital home theater receiver, the RX-V3800.

A high-end Home Theater Receiver introducing new technologies and features including 3D CINEMA DSP, latest HDMI 1.3a specification support, upscaling to 1080p High Definition TV picture, full support for the latest High Definition audio formats signals eg. Dolby TruHD & DTS-HD decode (therefore most suitable for Blu-ray player & PlayStation3), Adaptive DRC and Adaptive DSP Level, YPAO Auto Setup with Quick Start, and multi-zone custom installation support. and Network Receiver functions.

Special Feature: If you link your ASTRO TV Decoder unit to this RX-V3800 network AV receiver using an S-video cable, it will up-scale the ASTRO TV broadcast signals to high resolution video signals inorder for you to enjoy the most clearest ASTRO TV programmes on your Full-HD LCD/Plasma TV, or your HD-Ready 720p TV. Meaning that you are now watching ASTRO TV programmes in a "High Definition" TV picture format. The up-scaled high resolution video signals will be output via a HDMI cable to your display unit. The RX-V3800 has the capability to upscale Analog video from 480i (NTSC)/576i (PAL) or 480p/576p to 720p, 1080i or 1080p.
