Recommendation valve amp

Post by AhChow on Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:35 am

Hi, any sifu can recommend valve amp?
Currently I have AV amp with AE109 speaker. It quite good but the vocal not warm enough. I like to focus on music clarity and vocal.
Budget around 3 ~4K ( I know good valve amp are more then 10K)
Any China valve amp or second hand are OK for me.
Thank in advance.
I from Penang area.

Hi Chow,I am using this Meixing valve amp from china and it partner very well with the opera duetto. I have been enjoying for the past few years and the amp does not give any problems at all.

As I am going to relocation to china by early next year, i started to look for new owners for my babies. I have sold my opera duetto recently and now I am looking for a taker for my Meixing tube amp.should u interested in my meixing kindly sms to me at 0178978880 for further details. i bought it for rm2500 in 2007 and now only asking for rm1500.

I would suggest you also take the opportunity to listen to some Single Ended tube amps based on 300b, 45, or 2A3 tubes as well. These tubes are excellent for vocals and uncomplicated jazz and chamber music.

I used to own a Yaqin 300b and it sounds quite decent, and within your budget.

Please bear in mind that these SE tube amps are low-powered and would match best with higher efficiency speakers (>90db/m).

Ahhhh, but we must also be clear that a 93db single driver, crossoverless speaker will be more efficient and play louder than a two way speaker of similar sensitivity rating...

Can't be Jedi, I've got a 'strong' email from 'distributor', saying that they brought stocks in July 2011, 3 months ago. Either shipping from USA is extremely slow, can't be, 'cause I've just got my Zu cables from Zu USA in less than 1 month after payment. Or......??? Mmmmm..... Sleep

I also received info from Zu directly... their cabinet maker has been delayed, thus backorders for speakers have been piling up. In September, they said that the shipment would be on its way 'soon'...
