Lessloss - discussion thread

Post by Erick on Thu Dec 01, 2011 4:23 pm

To all audiophile & music lover.

I came across this 2 products from Lessloss.com
They are proven to be very good.
Check it out!!!

This is the 2nd product I have from Lessloss...the beautiful BLACKBODY.

I have been using 4pcs DFPC for the past 3 months & can tell you my system has improve a lot,so I decided it's time for me to get the BLACKBODY.

I bought & received 1unit of the BB about 3 weeks ago---- so excited to hear what this black beauty can do. So I had it facing north by my transport. To my surprise my system still improved ( & when I thought that the 4 pcs.DFPC was good enough)

With only 1 BB in place,I could hear more details, better sound staging & more natural sound with very dark background.
After 2 nights of seriously listening (together with a few of my hifi members)with & without the BB,we confirm that this baby is A MUST HAVE for every audiophile system. This BB can be detected at once.

Bought another 5 BB units. Had them place North - one to each component & one facedown on top of each speakers.(please refer to pictures).

Now with all the 6 units BBs in place, I can hear very clean and full bodied sound as the whole room is fill with music, the slightly detail, more darker background and the expression of the singer(the feeling singing out from his/her mouth) & the musician playing their instruments--so damn real ---just too good to be true.

Trust your own ears. Get 1 BLACKBODY unit and try & you will be wanting more.

" VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED "

Next I will be going for the firewall..........if my pocket permits me

Feeling very satisfied & best regards,
Erick (Malaysia)

Wow, your review made it on to their website too.

Smells and sounds a bit like snake oil to me... How much do these puppies go for? Can I get the same effect by putting some stickers on dark tinted glass stacked inside an alloy frame??

But then I could be totally wrong...

Very Happy (safety smiley)

No harm in getting one in to test.
They have a 30days money back program.

squaaak!!(makes strangled sounds).

i started to write the EXACT same words Jedisavant wrote, down to the use of the word 'puppies', and then decided to delete my post entirely, as i did not want to be labeled a troll.

But yeah, mahal dude. And i went down to the 'Gon (audiogoN) to check things out... petty devided there as well. But there are members there that swear by the Blackbody as well!)

I went over the the lessloss website... man the science or what passes as, there was 'whoosh' way over my head.

Really wonder what they sound like.... Very Happy

bal... the Jedi mind trick works well don't you think?? Very Happy

The website is a bit confusing too. There's a lot of Star Trek in there, so for me it's not in the correct galaxy... Razz

For that kind of money, I'd rather spend it on LPs, and some new speaker cables...

Went to a friend's listening room once and was shocked , the room looked like a mad scientist experiment lab..walls padded up with foams, his gears suspended on weird looking mini flying source shaped feet. small coins shaped metal objects stuck to walls ..and the every single tweaks have their purpose and he swears they improve the sound quality ..the worse thing is that in order to get the best sound quality , one has to sit in a specific posture ..face straight at front, ears at certain height and cannot relax !! After a single session i got stiff back and neck !!

I actually have one such similar tweak sitting on top of my toilet bowl.
Its exceptionally helpful especially during those constipated days.

Highly recommended! (for bowel movements, at least.)

6 units = USD1323 X 6 = USD7938 X 3.2 = RM25401.60.

hmmmm, with that amount of money, i can

1) buy a new pre amp. or
2) buy a weiss dac, or
3) buy an mbl cd transport, or
4) buy a pretty good pair of speakers, or
5) buy a damned good turntable with top-notch cartridge, or...

I thought Black Body Radiation is a mode of Heat Transfer? How is this going to make the back ground "Blacker" or improve the SQ?

that's why there's plenty of snake oil in the shady world of hi-fi tweaks.

every 'inventor' has some 'scientific' mumbo-jumbo to 'explain' how their products 'work'.

So I take it that no one else has used LessLoss products here on Hifi4Sale? 'Cos it seems like one has to lose quite a lot in order to get them in the first place...

As a matter of fact I just picked up some LPs today!

Just realised my tv sits in between my speakers, some ways back, and it's a potential big black reflector of some kind... Gonna try it with the Sony Blanket and without... see how the sound quality changes...

Will report soon... with this method, it is NoLoss, as it don't cost me nothing...

If its between the speakers, it won't really reflect anything except for some visual placebo effect.

The stuff that would really affect the sound significantly would be the 1st Reflection Points (ie, the coffee table, the sofa, the floor midway between the listening spot & The speakers, the ceiling midway likewise...)

Samazzah, after reading the article, one impression from the author is to insult and put shame on all those reputable audio reviewers and PC manufacturer for reviewing and selling their products which made no different from electric shop kettle cable, impossible to believe Smile

puiyk, that is the point of that article. The writer is not any armchair analyst like a lot of Hi Fi fans out there, he happens to be an engineer from one of the well known Hi Fi manufacturers. Everything needs to be judged in an empirical and repeatable manner (read scientific). There are too many Hi Fi enthusiasts like yourself who think that great products justify a high price. If there are differences, show me the science and the engineering behind it, then perhaps I might believe the prices shown above. Its not an insult but careful science and engineering backed up with proper statistical results.
