Marantz CD-63 fixes & upgrades
thinking of refurbishing my cd63
at the moment, does not read cds, skips all the way
tray does not close properly, anything else works fine
any recommendations where to fix the problem?
i know one in shop in ampang park, but need more infos
what is advicable price range to fix those problems?
what upgrade can be done with rm600 to this cd player? tqs

Sell off, add Rm600 and go buy a new CDP, like Cambridge Audio?

That shop in Ampang Park, you referring to Ultimate Sound? They're the last remaining hifi shop there. I sent my CD63 there and they did a really good job. Highly recommended. I use the Marantz in my second system for not too serious listening.
As for mods, not really worth doing too much as you can buy something better for the money. You might want to look at adding a IEC power socket and maybe dynamat the top cover and chassis. That's all i'd do although I have yet to do it.
But if you decide to sell your CD63, you still need to fix it up first or else you won't get much for it.

tqs for the advice. i feel like the potential is there with this player.
even with philips cd634 ( i think) they mode them into tube cdp
how much does it cost you to repair it? last time he quoted rm200 to rm300
thinking of doing stage by stage, bit by bit..

burson audio OPamp, jitter clock & power regulator seems interesting
any alternatif of these upgrades back in bolehland? plus pricing if possible
