CD tray open and close randomly

hi, my CD player starts giving problem, i.e. when i insert CD into tray and close it, after 5 sec, the tray opens by itself, if i leave no CD in tray and close it, the tray will stay close and display 'No Disc'. When i turn off power of CD player and turn on again, the problem resolved, but temporary, after a while, when i insert another disc, the problem arise.

May i know what happening to my CD player? What's the symptom?

Either the controller logic chip koyak, or the open/close tray sensor is dirty or faulty.

Suspect the latter first coz its an easier fix.

If controller chip koyak, unless u can find a cheap cheap replacement motherboard, better to buy a new CD player.

If u daring enuff to open up your CD player, look for some mechanical switch or magnetic sensor along the tray mechanism. Maybe its just a dust-bunny thats causing all the problems.

My CD tray works again ! I just tried almost 10 attempts with few CDs, it works 10 / 10. Apparently the CD tray
sensor is dirty, i opened the tray and just blowed at the tray (without
open the casing).
