My experience with Monster Cable

Post by fizi on Sat Oct 03, 2009 3:30 am

hi all...

just to share with others my expirience deal with MONSTERCABLE...

Last 4 years i purchase 1 pair MONSTER ULTRA SERIES 1000 THX AUDIO INTERCONECT 2.5 meter from SOLEHAH

recently 1 unit of my rca conector already broken and i cant use the intercon anymore..very frustrating..i try to look around for the same replacement but i cannot get the same matching model im also try ask monster dealer in malaysia but none of them can help because there is no receipt or serial/production number from ori box to claim the warranty..im start thinking to change all 4 conectors to other brand like WBT,Audioquest and etc etc but the cost to replace 4 conector is quite expensive...

Lastly,i send an email to monster about my problem.the next day i receive a reply from Mr Eric Vitug (monster representative)..he just need my particular and product details then he will give me a code to send the intercon back to them..i reply back and explain to them in details due to no official receipt and serial no for claim the warranty or to get a new conector..Mr Eric reply and said again he only neads all the details and he will give a code..after give all the details and i get a code and address to send back the cable to USA...after nicely pack,i send the cable using air mail by pos malaysia and cost me Rm45...after 2 weeks im very surprise,i receive 1 new set of interconect and the best thing is i got a new model of M1000 series

Im very happy about the profesional service provide from MONSTERCABLE..i really appreciate it..To all kaki's hopefully can consider MONSTERCABLE for ur system..

sharing is caring

that's good to know....excellent after sales service from manufacturer but not from local dealer/distributor.

Makes you think whether better to buy online at lower prices from reputable sellers or support local dealers/distributors at higher prices who gives sh.t services....

I'm currently using Monster power cable- Powerline 400 signature series, very happy with the cable -neutral sound.
Glad to know you are also happy with monstercable.

Hmm.. this is a good testimonial for MONSTER. I have been thinking of buying the subwoofer cable and this experience makes that a lot more likely ! I think the issue with the 'official' Monster dealers is that they are not really specialist hifi dealers. Or at least those I know, because I only see Monster sold in places like Harvey Norman. It is a lot different to those days of old where Tat Chuan was the official distributor. Of course Albert being my good friend really made a lot of difference then was well.

You can trust Monster cable.

You don't have to pay high prices for Monster cable from retailers like Harvey Norman, etc. Look at the For Sale thread here, and you can find some sellers selling Monster cables at a very reasonable price.

I have used both interconnects and speaker cables from Monster since the early 90s. Well, i have been using them till now and still amazed by the high quality copper as it is still shiny and looks pretty new till now,
No regrets.

recently bought a vintage pair of Monster cable M1000 Mk II interconnect in this forum. All solder joints and wire copper were in excellent condition despite the fact that its more than 10 years old.

Monster build quality is first class.

And if the equipment is matching with the cables used, the sound is really good as well.

fizi you are lucky to purchase genuine monster cable from solehah. imagine if you were to post to monster cable headquarters in u.s.a a fake interconnect, i doubt they will replace it with a new pair. it is a pitty that the no-nonsense sollehah is no longer posting in this website as i did come across her old postings and i found out that they are very detail, informative and interesting to read. i gain a lot of info and knowledge from it. guess that i got to look for her postings elsewhere as she got a lot of av and hifi stuff to sell

hope members will give more detail info about their items for sale in this website. if at all i didn't buy (maybe not enough fund) well at least i gain some info and knowledge on av or hifi stuff

We're not going to further waste anyone's time discussing about someone else's reputation here. Enough has been said and we can all draw our own conclusions. Let's return to the subject at hand: your experience with Monster Cable.

Incidentally, the first 2 pairs of interconnects that my brother (he introduced me to hi-fi) & I bought yonks ago were Monster Cable Interlink 300 & 400 respectively.

Like it or not, Monster Cable legitimised the audio cable business and for many of us, did demonstrate some sound quality improvements over the usual no-name, standard-issue or bundled interconnects & speaker cables.

Of course, riding on Monster Cable's success, may other companies have sprung up and some of us have moved on.

Then again, for those of us running Apple Airport Express, this is quite good - the AirPort Express Stereo Connection Kit: http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9573LL/A
which was also used in the last Hi-Fi 4 Sale gathering, while demonstrating wireless media server playback using iTunes.

Just a sidenote:
What reminded me of Monster Cable was watching Astro Discovery Turbo recently when they aired this program:

Have fun and enjoy...

Hmmm.... i wonder how would the new Monster M1000i compare against the old M1000 Mk.II of yesteryear .. ?

Hey @Digitaltech, wanna arrange for an A/B session?

Pssst, Moderator, can we move "some portions" on this thread to a brand new thread @ Equipment Discussion,
[thanks!]

Now ..... back to MONSTERS ..... Any Sigma owners out there ? ... anyone ? Helloooo ?
If
memory serves me right, these bad-ass cables had their Connectors
COLD-WELDED with a 20,000psi presser/crimper or something like that.
This means no soldering whatsoever.
