Hi Bal,

Laneway Festival is a yearly indie music fest that started in Australia since 2004. Starting last year, it has been expanded to South East Asia, namely Singapore. For this year's event, it was scheduled on Feb 12 at Fort Canning Park which will headline artists like M83, Feist, The Drums and many others! More info at http://singapore.lanewayfestival.com.au/

Polly Jean Harvey - Let England Shake. This is probably in many a music mazine/critic list of 100 albums last year. I have not bought any PJ Harvey material after "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea" and this proves that she has not lost her mojo.

Death Cab for Cutie - Codes and Keys. More electronic for this once upon a time cult indie-emo-rock band now signed to a major label. Pretty decent especially the excellent "You are a Tourist". I like it more than their previous too ambitious album - "Narrow Stairs"

Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know. Ms Marling is getting better with her latest album even bettering the already very very good "I Speak Because I Can". Magnificent!

Paula Cole - Ithaca. Ms Cole's last few albums have been pretty decent but sadly she has never reached the heights of her first.

Marit Larsen - Spark. What am I doing with an album from former M2M teenybopper? Ms Larsen has come a long way since then and this is a pretty good pop album

3 follow ups to widely acclaimed debuts

White Lies - Ritual. No as morbid as "To Lose my Life" but I prefer the debut. Still a not bad effort

Glasvegas - Euphoric Heartbreak. A different musical turn from the shoegazing oriented debut. For this I also rate the debut higher.

Fanfarlo - Rooms Filled with Light. Fanfarlo are starting to turn into an mid 80s New Wave lelectronic outfit to go with their brand of chamber pop. No less original than their debut just different and better to me.

Not that early. Usually at 6 am. By 630 am i am already in the hifi room. And leave home by 7 am.

Fooking excellent isn't it. Actually some of me fave metallica tunes are the covers. Got this on CD. Just need to go pick up me vinyl copy from vendor.

Was blasting the recently acquired 45-rpm versions of Kill Em All & Ride the Lightning just now . . . alongside 12" of One & Harvester of Sorrow (which has Breadfan on flipside).

No if only Metallica can rediscover the mojo that made em great in the first place . . .
