Connecting an integrated amp to an AV receiver

Guys, I need help here..

i already have integrated amp (marantz pm-44se)...yeaa it's old one...
I'm planning to buy a new av receiver and home theater speaker

The question is how to connect the integrated amplifier to av receiver, is it possible?...

if your integrated has preamp outputs and your avr has power amp inputs, then you can ...

Or you could have your integrated amp modified by a repairman to seperate the pre and power sections and use it as a pre amp or power amp. Just an idea.

You did not tell us what actually you want it to be connected for :
To share the same Front speakers OR you just want to " route" your dedicated Hi Fi Stereo Amp (NAD 3020 was highly acclaimed during its heydays !!!) through the AV Amp.
If to share the same Front Speakers with the AV Amp, then best way
is to connect the Speakers wire the Normal Way to the Front Speaker BUT
with " Switches " to Cut it Off when you are listening to the AV Amp. If it is
just because you want to use it as a Pre-Amp and Using the AV Amp as the
Power Amp, then bassraptor has explained it earlier.
But if I were you, Leave the Hi Fi Stereo Amp as Standalone.....You
can buy any Brand of Power Amp to partner it. 0fcourse matching Nad Brand will be much better- same manufacturer (That is if your NAD 3020 has
the Pre-out / Main-In Terminal at the back) Many AV Amp cannot even come
close to the Performance of a Dedicated Hi Fi Amp. To play Hi Fi using AV Amp, you will select " STEREO " but as I said because of the Too many circuitry involved in the AV Amp, only few Top model can satisfy you in
playing Stereo Music. You have one of the Finest Vintage Amp (NAD 3020)
And you can use you AV Amp to watch Movies and Music Videos....
But you still can Route your DVD Player to both the AV Amp and the HI FI
Stereo Amp. If you can, better still use Two different pairs of Front Speakers
if you dont want to apply cutoff Switches in between the Speaker's Cable.

.....correction. sorry I mistakenly thought your HI FI Amp is the NAD 3020.
Anyway, the MARANTZ PM 44SE is also a highly acclaimed Amp during its
heydays. So the mode of connecting be it Speaker Wires or would-be Power
Amp, the explanation above still applies.......thank you.

yes correct....As I said, only some of the Top and expensive Model can
perform " almost to the performance " or even on par to that of the dedicated
Hi Fi Stereo Amp. And one of the model is the old Yamaha DSP-A3090 that
was retailed in the market for over RM 9 K many years back. (Because I have
tested it against a dedicated Mid Priced Hi Fi Amp). Other Top (Expensive) Japanese AV Amps that also perform as good as the Hi Fi Amps are Pioneer,
Sony, Panasonic and Onkyo (sorry if I missed out some brand) but they have to be the Top Flagship Model to do that.......

Some stereo integrated amps have Home Theatre Bypass/Home Theatre Mode/Home Theatre Throughput (all the same).

It simply means the integrated amp can be connected to an AV receiver.
The stereo integrated amp will function as the power amp for 2 channels and the volume is controlled by the av receiver.
If it doesn't have this mode, then I am not sure it is going to work.

I think some integrated amps connect to av receiver using the source input and not the pre.
This is because some particular integrateds have no preamp in.
Make sure the av receiver's volume is at zero and the integrated is off while plugging in the RCA cables.
You have to set the integrated amp to home theater bypass mode so that it will bypass the preamp section and only use the power section while connected to av receiver.

If you are still in doubt, the basic rule and best way is to read the manual.

zone 2 or 3 also can use to connect av amp to integ amp.. 12 V trigger should be shown there.... depend on your av amp..

Got intruction with sifu, my marantz sr6003 pre-out to my audiolab 8000A , so when i'm having movie, integrated amp need to switch on, volume +/- for main speaker control by the integrated amp.
