Acoustic Research AR M2 Holographic Speaker

VERY good sound quality- they live up to their name of "holographic imagry".  
Would go so far as to say one of the best sounding mid size speakers I have come across ever.  
Mirror image design and unique shape.  
Rated 10-125 watts, 4-8 ohms.  
All four drivers are original and in good shape.  

Cabinets show some wear but not that bad.  
The grills have plastic tabs so they snap in to place-  Still stays in place OK.

The M series work best fired straight ahead (not toed in) forming an equilateral triangle with the listener. They should be slightly above your head for best tweeter integration and within a couple of feet of the wall. I think they were the last great AR speakers before they went down the mass market lane.


This is a unique and rare pair of Acoustic Research AR Holographic Imaging M2 speakers - these little speakers sound downright outstanding. These M series AR's were used by Mark Levinson to showcase his audiophile amplifiers. Extremely impressive the sheer amount of sound that comes from these little 2 ways including tight punchy bass when put up on a nice pair of stands. Imaging and separation are outstanding. And these little guys can fill a room taking a good deal of power if you want to turn up the volume. Poly woofers and butyl rubber surrounds are excellent and never rot or need to be refoamed. Perfect sonically
