hi everyone,

Did you all know that the rb970 bx integrated is full equip with Black Gate capacitors specially around the preamp section....?

Thus making it a 'Special Edition' version from all the rest. It's hard to see such mid level of amp that implements this exotic parts specially when it become obsolete...these days only when you joining to the diy world that you can see Black Gates being used in a very limited number.

Last time I saw rb970 bx here for RM500. It's a pity when people seams to ignore this fine offer and focus more to other main stream brands just because it's popular...

Just listen to it if you have an opportunity.

Amir

Want to spice up the bass of the RB908BX / RB970BX ????

This is what you can do.

Get a 0.1uF NOS Russian PIO caps, like the cheap KY-42 or the much expensive K75 PIO and just bypass those big lytic power caps on the RB908BX. 1 PIO for each lytic cap.

You'll get smoother and round bass. Simple

Congrats on encouraging PIO caps for solidstate amps. You slow down the pace and get rounder bass...slower bass lines in reality by lowering signal transient speed using bigger sized capacitors that are more suited to tube circuitry. But then again, entirely your preference if you like it that way.

bsl....you can consider this as try and error....and try again and again....works good for me and the rb970bx. No complains.....besides I got few spares of PIO in my drawer so no harm to try using the same concept....if i don't like it ditch it....simple
