Separated at birth

Post by hifikrazy on Wed Jun 30, 2010 5:00 pm

Look familiar?
http://www.beone-audio.com/Loudspeaker/ywzx/20070907/174943.shtml

I totally understand the company's philosophy after reading their background...

"In 1978, the two finally decided to create their own brand of "high quality price benefits, high-tech gold content" for the purpose, to promote the "sound than the rhyme," was born." (You don't say... )

Hi,

Familiar?

Some look like wilson benesch or even sonus faber.

"X-box materials and M material'
sound like same as Wilson audio.but anyone call it X or M or any alphabet.

But the important thing is anyone heard this compant product?Sure look promising.

Yup. You can see their B&W clones in this write up...
http://hifi-unlimited.blogspot.com/2009/10/middle-kingdom-in-amcorp-mall-audio.html

Looks like they have moved on from B&W to Sonus Faber now. Dunno what's the next victim... Focal Utopia?

You must have been impressed by their "than rhyme sound".

I did have a listen to their B&W 805 clone before. I had a B&W 805 for a number of years and I can seriously say that the clones sounds nothing like the original. And the thing is, these clones aren't dirt cheap either.

I agree... China workmanship is pretty impressive and they can do it relatively cheaply, but as you rightly say, why must they blatantly create such shameless copies?

haha I'm not comparing the clone and ori B&W. What I was saying is the setup consists of BOA CDP and integrated amp with a big a$$ speaker (not BOA though) and they sounded really good together.

I can't understand why anybody would want to buy a B&W/Sonus Faber/Aerial Acoustics wannabe. I would feel rather malu lah, especially when I have to correct whoever mistakenly identifies the speaker for something else.

For the same price, I would rather just go for any other speaker that is not suffering from an identity crisis.

Can't agree more especially the price is high! A pair of "B One" floorstander was quoted to me at RM 25,000!

Might as well buy three pairs of Harbeth SHL 5.

Anyway, like they say, there is a sucker born everyday.

No need to tone down lah. Some of us already said it loud and clear. Even he is not in the Discussion Forum, I am sure he has spies to inform him what transpires in the discussions, especially the bad news about him.

Don't forget, some actually idolise him especially those who bought the cloned equipment at half the original equipment price. I wont be surprised if a sucker actually pays RM 25,000 for the Be One floorstander and stiil thinks that it is a bargain.

Wow.... a name change......Feng Shui or other compelling reasons..... $imon = $$$$

Small stuff possible to buy but not RM45K for a clone. As some have quoted, other pallatable options are available.

But you got to hand it to him for making the effort to be succesfull in the area he has ventured and doing a well.

Wow... I thought the 'Clone' speakers on display are between RM2.5K to RM5K, the decimal points just shifted to the right. Was at his shop a couple of months ago. Not sure about him being lansi, for a hifi business person he was surely very suave and friendly Very Happy Very Happy. Almost bought a 300B amp (can't recall the model, just the tube). Embarassed Embarassed that's why I suppose managed to get someone to buy the RM25K stuff. If I recall correctly, even had his young daughter with him at his booth during the 09' KLAV Show.. friendly family man Very Happy Very Happy
