khlim,

Any luck in choosing the speakers?

I have both mission and epos. No experience with dali.

For my main set up with MF amps and CDP, I use the Epos M12.2i.
For second set up, Marantz amp and CDP, I use Mission M31i.
And for AV set up, Yamaha processor, I use Mission M34i.

In summary, Mission provide plenty of bass. If you want your music strong and punchy, go for Mission. Your Audiolab should be able to provide plenty power.

Epos is more laid back and provides detail and clarity.

By the way, whats wrong with your B&W?

BW602 = harsh
Audiolab = thin and clinical

put both together you know the result..
try some Vienna acoustics if you have chance

BW602 = needs some juice.
Audiolab = needs some tube warmth maybe?

when my Custom 6c33 amp is ready you guys can lug the BW over to my place for some torque whacking and 3d staging... hopefully

BAT guys are invited too...

now we are talking khlim. Pre power combo to biamp your speakers will definitely improve the sound. I have been biamping my mission and epos with MF pre and power. Previously, I only biwired the speakers but after adding the power amp, the sound quality improved significantly. More control on bass, clarity and detail were improved as well.

i'm with elhefe. but results may vary. as always, subjective, too many factors involved and no absolute.

from my limited experience i only had my 1st listen to a Class A 50wpc integrated MF last month and ... love at first listen! maybe it just matches my setup...

grunt, smooth, room filling, good headroom, free flowing, grunt, smooth, i'm gonna repeat, grunt, smooth, audiolab can't keep up.... ooops!

speculation: an MF power amp might just put an evil smile on your face

eh.. apesal jd cerite amp pulak?

Waaaah khlim u want a 'perfect' match ka? Please be aware, if u get a perfect match, then u have no more room fof upgrade. Hehehehe. 8000M power amp should be a good match.

Hi KHLim,
It's all go down to the mix and match things. I owned Dali Royal Minuet 2 before, and now a Epos M12i.

Both can sound fast and hard hitting; totally depends how you mix and match it with cable and amp. Epos M12i can be totally lack of bass if you are not careful enough on the cable selection and speaker placement. But has very good open vocal.. has more body and definition over my Dali. But Dali has slightly bigger soundstage, better dynamic and better bass volume..haha shame to say that 4 inch outperform 6.5 inch. But if you know how to do the necessary tweak/tuning, it should have more bass from Epos.

From the current price offering, the Epos M12i is certainly a more worthy deal over the award winning B&W 685.

My Dali was an old version, can't speak much for the current version.
