Marantz CD94 (Bastler)--sold-
Total recall a beatiful lagend.Quality vintage audiophile CD player by Marantz CD94 sounds superb and looks amazing brutal.
Built with astonishing quality. This CD player is brilliant example from the past cold war.
Marantz CD94mk1
Asking RM2500.
However. I will be gratefully present both of them to auditor to hear those differences he would be interested in. I can forgive many of his transgressions[newer plastic version CDM12], but to have abandoned and denying industry benchmark of his biological sibling [CDM1] is nothing short of despicable .
I believe the power supplies mods has done a better job of understanding what the audiophiles truly needs and then to determining what the gaps are left behind the expectation, One of the challenging parts in the by including reclock /Clock mods in such confined space, we understand our targets and the cost also are very directional to a final Mod results.
Dude, you better pay attention...because mr CDM1 must be lecturing miss TDA1541 on how to produce music in a more origanic and elegant manner. We're all different degrees of nuts. The nuttiest will deny they're nuts

Re: Marantz CD94 (Bastler)--sold-
It uses the Philips CDM mechanism and laser unit, and why they just didnt sick,?, because its a world class beater, overengineered piece of block metal head! This laser unit cost over Rm 1000 + to the value of today equivalent when it was available, when used one today could be sold for RM999 recently, price speaks for itself really. The laser was visible to the naked eye, scarey. If you can get it at a reasonable price, do so,dont just read,it could worth Rm2000 a piece..more valueble than gold bar!
Sometimes though, no matter how much money you throw on a single CDP , you have to remind yourself, 'is it worth it'! But for such “TDA/CDM” pedigree they are definitely worth every coin sen.

This is USA version marantz CD94. Not an asian model.

Re: Marantz CD94 (Bastler)--sold-
Lab report
The internal technology is the familiar Philips 16-bit 4x oversampling with separte DACs, powerful error correction and digital filtering. Additional attentiono here is paid to power supplies and audio circuitry, with extra internal screening. The frequency response was ruler flat, with the merest suggestion of HF ripples under our large scale magnification. Channel phase difference was zero due to the twin DACs, while channel balance was held to normal commercial tolerances. Seperation and distortion figures were truly outstanding, though the IM spectrogram does show some ultrasonic spuriae.
Error correction was very good on all tests, and resistance to shcok or vibration likewise. Mechanical noise was very low, and track acces time about average. The output level met the format sepcification, from a usefully low source impedance. Electrical noise levels were state-of-the-art, but the 0dB white noise test showed slight rounding at the top of the waveform, ultrasonic spuriae could have been lower, and the practical low level resolution was only 15 bits, a rather average result for an expensive machine.
Sound quality
The efforts that have gone into creating this machine have not been wasted, the expense being substantially vindicated by a very good sound quality rating. Retaining the fundamentally fine character of this 16-bit 4x oversampling chip set and losing nothing in dynamics, drama and bass drive, the Marantz CD94 is also clearly more restained, refined and good mannered. Giving a dependable sound that is easy to listen to, stereo perspectives were very good and the midband notably neutral, though there was a hint of laziness in the bass and treble.
..
massive cast-iron swing-arm glass-lense mechanisms still produce excellent sound and are virtually indestructible!!
