Mcintosh C504 preamplifier
Hi all,
After reading all the responses on my previous thread under "solid state vs tube pre", I went ahead to get a Mcintosh C504 preamplifier.
It should be arriving sometime this week.
Going to try and hook it up to my Leak ST 20 which was lying around
for quite a while now.
Frankly I've never owned any piece of Mcintosh gear in my life so this will be the 1st.
Any opinions on what to expect sound wise?
Any brothers out there own this model?
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions, especially from Mac owners.
cheers & shalom

Mcintosh C504 Solid State Preamplifier
Posted this enquiry on the wrong thread and am reposting for some answers.
Hi all,
After reading all the
responses on my previous thread under "solid state vs tube pre", I went
ahead to get a Mcintosh C504 s/state preamplifier.
It shouldbe arriving sometime this week.
Going to try and hook it up to my Leak ST 20 which was lying around
for quite a while now.
Frankly,I've never owned any piece of Mcintosh gear in my life so this will be
the 1st. Every thing about the preamp screams "old school", which was
what attracted me in the 1st place. Tone knobs and all.
Any opinions on what to expect sound wise?
Any brothers out there own this model or similar type.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions, especially from Mac owners.

Re: Mcintosh C504 Solid State Preamplifier
I only using McIntosh CDP, from my reading & experienced McIntosh like Naim, it need pair/match with their own brand to excel. If you could match your McIntosh pre & power your opinion/experience will be same like Naim or Simaudio combo user. You will never regret. Happy hunting for McIntosh poweramp.
I stop hunting McIntosh gear coz it higher price & difficult to find it in our region. McIntosh very famous in Canada & US also easier to find used McIntosh there (the price also reasonable).
