Accuphase C-280

A stereo preamplifier developed mainly for analog and digital disc playback in response to the advent of digital audio discs.

The circuit composition combines the cascode method with all the amplification stage class A push-pull of Accuphase tradition, and improves the basic characteristics before applying NFB.
The cascode connection has little feedback, and good characteristics can be obtained especially at high frequencies. In addition, linearity is maintained up to the operating limit of the element, distortion is reduced, and the SN ratio is improved. By constituting this with a class A push-pull, the linearity and distortion characteristics are further improved, and the basic characteristics before applying NFB are improved.

The basic circuit configuration of the unit amplifier is common, and the circuit configuration common to the head amplifier, equalizer amplifier, and high-level amplifier is adopted. The cascode push-pull differential amplification of the input by 8 elements and the cascode push-pull by 4 elements are basically composed of 3 stages with 3 stages.
Furthermore, the DC servo circuit by IC is carried, the direct current generated in the output is detected, it returns to the input, and the occurrence of DC drift is prevented. Due to this DC servo system and precise design, almost no DC drift is generated, and all signal systems from MC input to output are directly connected to eliminate coloring.

A power-source part uses a power transformer for exclusive use for a right-and-left channel, and has become a mono construction completely independent electrically and structurally.
Moreover, in order to measure low impedance over a wide band, a dedicated constant voltage power supply is installed for every unit amplifier, and it is a total of six multiple power supply systems. Furthermore, the constant voltage power supply part of the equalizer amplifier constitutes a cascode differential amplifier to obtain a high gain and increase the constant voltage effect.
The unit amplifier and the constant voltage power supply are housed in a thick aluminum housing and wired at the shortest distance to prevent the power supply impedance from increasing at high frequencies.

Accuphase P-800 

A stereo power amplifier designed to achieve both high quality sound and high output, following the development technology of the M-1000.

It consists of the balance system which connected two sets of all the push pull drive unit amplifiers to the bridge, and has raised the performance.
The balance system requires a transmission system dedicated to positive and negative signals, but noise entering from the outside is canceled in principle, and distortion generated by the amplifier is also canceled by the output circuit. Signal transmission is possible.

In order to achieve the same performance as the monaural amplifier, the power supply unit employs a power supply dedicated to the left and right independent.
In addition, with two power supplies that simply halve the power capacity, the power supply impedance rises and becomes disadvantageous compared to the single transformer method, so the P-800 employs a large capacity transformer of 1.5 kVA that can be used for stereo alone. , Have enough room.
Furthermore, the filter capacitor has a large capacity of 82,000μFx4 and a total of 328,000μF.

In the output stage of each unit amplifier, the broadband transistor of collector loss (Pc) 130W is adopted by 7-parallel push pull composition, and it is a total of 28 pieces with two units of one channel. For this reason, the total collector loss has reached 3.6kW.
In addition, with respect to switching distortion at the time of small output generated in the output stage, the operating point is set strictly so that each element of PNP and NPN is not cut off (state that no current flows) by the input signal. .
In addition, the P-800 is equipped with a low-load impedance switch using a low-impedance drive system that utilizes the basic characteristics of transistors, and by switching the supply voltage, consideration is given to supplying large power even at low loads. The Thereby, 1 ohm load and 2 ohm load are also supported, and sufficient drive of low impedance, low efficiency flat speaker and electrostatic speaker is enabled by all load correspondence.

MOS FET equivalent to a non-switching Class-A drive is adopted as the preceding stage which drives the last stage, and it constitutes with cascode push pull. Moreover, the front stage which sends a signal to this MOS FET also has Class-A cascode push pull composition.
This has constituted the stable output stage with few distortions from the small output of a noise area to the large output of a rated output.

The class A cascode differential push-pull system is adopted as an input stage.

The input terminal carries both balanced input and unbalanced input.

An optimal fan is sold separately and can be set inside the sideboard when set in a place where heat dissipation is poor or when driving at high output for a long time.
