The Rogers LS3/5a is a beautiful BBC monitor that truly impresses. I find that it has a slightly more modern sound when compared with the Harbeth P3ESR.
The sound is more lush with slightly more extended highs. It has a sparkle. The highs are not analytical or fatiguing. Just clear and well defined.
Mids are just glorious, precise, tonally rich. Bass ... well, its a mini monitor la. Can't expect too much but in a small to medium-small room the bass is good for listening. You won't feel it moving your body but you will like it.
Because of the slightly extended highs the sound stage is deep and wide. Very crisp in placing the vocals.
The Rogers LS3/5a are easy to drive with a 50w to 100w amp.
