Cary Audio CAD-40M mk2 tube monoblocks.
Condition 7.5/10

- Each channel uses 2x EL34 and 1x 6SL7, auto-biasing.
- Push pull in pure Class 'A'.
- 40 W per channel.
- I consulted Cary Audio, the amp can also take other power tubes i.e. KT-88, 6550, 6CA7.

- I have replaced all 4x EL34 tubes with Shuguang EL34M (8-pins) tubes last year. 6SL7 is Sovtek.

Personally, I have used and heard a couple of EL34 tube amps. This, by far, is the one that I don't hear any compression on heavy and loud music. Other EL34 amps usually get strained at high volumes. It sounds very "direct" too. When A/B against solid state amplifiers, the bass couldn't compete, but that seductive air around the instruments and vocals (in the room feel) is something that solid state amp is missing.

Currently looking to move-on to try some Japanese amps.

Prefer collection in person, too fragile for postage i suppose. Looking for RM (withdrawn).
