The Tannoy System 8's are tight and full sounding in general. I was using them as a pair of mid to near field monitors, and they certainly packed enough punch for me to be able to get an accurate read on what we were recording. I remember getting a very tight kick drum sound through these monitors, as the low end is very good for a pair of medium sized monitors. After listening to the unmixed and very rough recordings that we did while monitoring through the System 8's, it was clear to see that they had steered us in the right direction as the sound translated well to my monitors at home.

Without doubt, setting new standards in this midfield/mobile monitor class. 

This unique combination of high technology DMT 8 inch Dual Concentric driver and the strikingly beautiful, energy coupled/braced cabinet results in exceptional quality from this modestly sized loudspeaker system.

The MONITOR SYSTEM shall consist of a 8 inch full-range, single point source, Dual Concentric transducer and a first-order low frequency, first-order high frequency with positive acoustic polarity frequency dividing system. 

Performance of the MONITOR shall meet or exceed the following criteria: frequency response 1 m on axis with swept sine wave shall be 55 Hz - 20 kHz +3 dB, sensitivity shall be at least 91 dB for 1 watt at 1 metre, nominal impedance shall be 8 ohms with a rated power capacity of at least 140watts peak.
