Some info:

McINTOSH MC7100 100W STEREO AMPLIFIER

The McIntosh MC7100 Stereo Power Amplifer, conservatively rated at 100 watts per chan @ 8 ohms in stereo, or 300 watts per chan @ 8 ohms in the mono mode. (150 watts per chan @ 4 ohms)THD less than .005%, response 20-20kHz. Outputs are direct coupled for 4 to 8 ohms. Enjoy amazing, crystal-clear highs, with deep, solid low-end response.

POWER GUARD, featured on this amplifier, is a patented McIntosh innovation. When an amplifier is overdriven, for instance by a sudden music peak, it can "clip" and send a burts of damaging energy to your speakers. This is the most common cause of damager to the "tweeter" element of speakers. Power Guard, an optical - electronic circuit, prevents clipping by instinctively turning the volume down, then back up, in as little as 1/1000 of a second. Hard clipping is avoided, and speakers are safe while ensuring maximum safe power output.

SENTRY MONITOR CIRCUIT, another McIntosh innovation, senses and helps prevent damage to the amplifier in case of accidental short circuits in the speaker lines. Sentry Monitor makes protection fuses a nuisance, a thing of the past. The amplifer reverts back to normal operation as soon as the problem is corrected.

DESCRIPTION: Front illuminated glass panel w/ Power Guard lamps.
Back side has speaker barrier strip, audio inputs, gain controls, and stereo/mono mode switch. AC outlet. Fuse. Panloc mounting.
