This is an interesting DIY CD Transporter project incorporating the renowned Philips CDPro2 CD mechanism. I have been using this transport for 6 months and am getting very good result. The assembly instructions can be obtained from HERE.

Salient Specs:
  • All aluminum chassis.

  • Magnetic levitation suspension.

  • Top loading.

  • Philips original oscillator clock could be replaced with a low jitter and low ppm clock.

  • Premium grade components.

Except for the Surface Mounted Devices (SMD) the whole unit is quiet easy to assemble. It took me two days to assemble it. Will guide if you are interested.

I have another method by not having to ply open the oscillator. Totally reversible method, just lifting two legs of the main microprocessor from the PCB. Except for SMDs, the assembly is quite simple.
