DIY Wooden Horns Empty DIY Wooden Horns

Post by mthoi Mon Aug 22, 2011 3:27 pm

Hi - anyone knows of any woodwork specialists that can build wooden horns?

At present, I have a fiber glass exponential horns attached to a compression driver. It sounds good but I understand that wooden horns (and different woods) have a more "organic" sound that I ma keen to explore.

Since I am no-good in woodwork, I am keen to find a woodwork sifu that builds wooden horns or have a wood lathe - I can supply the math-dimensions for the exponential horn. Tx.

I have just bought a pair of Coral 8A-40 FR with a side load horn using teak wood. Pretty good sound. Not sure if he can build the enclosure of your requirement.

Your can PM me for his contact.
