不好意思. 5151 is my user id. I have one customer calling me digit man which is pretty cool too
Not sure what kind of info you're looking for in a banana plug... there are various like x plating vs y plating, high mass vs low mass, a design vs b design, etc.
Anyway, allow me to start off with this: screw vs crimp vs solder.
In my opinion, soldering and crimping are better than using screws.
Of course, most users will find the screw method the easiest. Almost everyone has a screw driver at home. Aren't we? Well, the best way to do if you want the screw method is to firstly prepare your cables using some crimp sleeves. See the link below for more info:
http://www.wbt-usa.com/pages/crimpsleeves.html
If no crimp sleeves are used, then the connection quality will certainly be compromised. The exception is probably when you're using some solid core cables, for example the DNM Reson.
There's a very good article from Cardas on crimping vs soldering:
http://www.cardas.com/content.php?area=insights&content_id=13&pagestring=Solder+vs.+Crimped
Hope this helps.
And thanks tycham for your kind reference

Re: Banana plugs recommendations
A & L Audiostation stocks a fair bit of Audioquest terminals, spades, etc. Only if you're agreeable to their price, perhaps within affordability if its worth to you audiophile cables. Otherwise, like me I use simple RM3 black and red colored screw locking (no soldering) banana plugs from one shop off Jln.Pudu. It works well for me without spending arm n leg.

Re: Banana plugs recommendations
Audiomatic (Eugene) at Amcorp Mall have a good range of Furutech speaker terminals, ranging above RM300 per quad set. I was very charmed by its appearence, packaging and quality. Only if you can afford..

Re: Banana plugs recommendations
just an opinion, for banana plugs, just get whatever suits the cable and is kind to your wallet/bank-account.
Bananas are not the best for sound quality anyways. So just get whatever fits the cable size and whats convenient to install (either by soldering or those biting grub screws).
The problem with banana plugs is that they lose tension in the long run. And the mating surfaces are also more exposed compared to spades.
If really serious about speaker connections, use spades instead. Screw them on just about tight and they are good to last for years and years.

Re: Banana plugs recommendations
I bought the cheaperestest (sorry, pinjam your trademark word for a while) banana plugs that the shop can offer.
I just cannot imagine how expensive those plugs can be..
They just wont make any astonishing improvements to the performance of the cables according to my ears.

Re: Banana plugs recommendations
speaking of which , i just finished soldering some plugs on a Supra Rondo speaker cable to fit into the Exposure Amp. This amp is very fussy: will not accept any other type of wire ends except Banana plugs. Typical British inconvenience.

Re: Banana plugs recommendations
I have no chance whatsoever in using spades in my system previously.
My Exposure is already having 'unique' speaker terminals.
And then the Epose ES11.
They accept banana plugs only..
But I did not care.. I only use those 'cheap plak' or 'chapalang' brand banana plugs for my NACA3.

Nowadays, most of the Epos are already Chinese and not a Brit...
