Musical Fidelity M1DAC A (SOLD) Empty Musical Fidelity M1DAC A (SOLD)

Post by CH Liew Sun Mar 11, 2012 9:39 pm

Hi all, am letting go my Musical Fidelity M1DAC A, which was bought new and used for less than 2 months.

Nothing wrong with the unit but I'm spending more time listening to music through my turntable hence the DAC should find a new home.

This is the updated version of the M1DAC with the key difference being the USB input allowing true upsampling on Asynchronous basis up to 24/192 instead of the usual 24/96 limitation.

It has four digital inputs : coax, optical, balanced and USB.

The M1 DAC will lock on to any S/P diff signal at; 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88kHz, 96kHz and 192kHz. The input sampling frequency is displayed on the front panel.

The M1 DAC upsamples to 24-bit at 192kHz. This is genuine true upsampling.

Another interesting feature is the presence of a choke filtration on the mains input, which is effectively a mains signal conditioner to improve performance and sound.

Condition : 9/10 (box included)
Color : Black
Price : (SOLD) (I'll throw in a 2.0m Wireworld Ultraviolet 5.2 USB A-to-B cable)[/b]

Hi, sorry have not used the Rega DAC before so unable to comment. My opinion of the MF DAC is : clarity with good extension at both ends of the spectrum (highs and lows) with superb clarity. I especially enjoyed the practicality of having asynchronous USB connection allowing high resolution files to be streamed via USB cable from a laptop/PC.

Thanks for update. I am comparing M-Dac, Rega Dac and M1DAC but no opportunity to listen to it yet. Pioneer is releasing N-50 which is audio streamer, not sure how good is it.
