Naim Nap180 (used)

Easily to go with any Nac without need an external powersupply.Perfect for existing owner who looking one for Bi-amping.

Obviously Naim pay very much attention to the power-supply and i would like to add a word [especially a good Quality power supply] which most Nac happily to go..makes him jumping out of the water..

Naim Nap180 is a pure and unadulterated musical beast, with lots detail and dynamic.

Hint: Required a Hicap/TeddycapPlus to have an access for Bi-amping option.

NAP160

Nap180 is a beef up version of Nap160
with a slighly beefier power transformer. Housed the power supply together on a board to keep the wiring as little as possible.Some disagree and still prefer to the Blue sky dynamite.

I have hear both, they have their own strength and character. ..
if you go more for oldies and records..Nap160 is your ticket

if you want something near Nap250 performance,prefer more "attack" and able to handle Sara better..this is your Pick.

To me Nap180 sounds more "Attack" than Nap250 or even 135s..
its just like 16bit [44khz] vs 24-bit [196khz] format!

You will be sworn the excessive energy in upper mid and lower Hi. These frequency ranges seem out to bite you, the immediacy of Nap180 above Nap250/135s by a street distant... Guitar, violin, cymbal, chick chick really ATTACKING shine at work....

Lastly Its only the quality that counts!!

No nonsense and minimalist some Briks user have used a 110 /140 ,160.180 to drive them and were happy...as it depends on what you want to achieve in sounds, In my own experience any Nap as lower as 110 was enough to make them sings,but make-sure crank up the dial passes 1 o`clock position to get a realistic volume .

You must also realize that nunning the DMS bricks with smaller amps would be a bit like putting an C70 engine into a HayaBusa ! The 135s would be the perfect fit,it will turn-ON the 6th driver inside the Briks DMS,delivers stunning Basso.
Although the Sara/ DMS Briks is power hungry but a Naxo X-over can close the Gap.

Some Nait 1/2 users had tried to drive those Briks in passive mode in a smaller room..so i would not suspect the Nap180 would have any difficulty doing that bit for the sheer thrill of huge dynamics!
