Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) Mastering

Mobile Fidelity have become famous for the quality of their audiophile LP releases. Many standard LPs are mastered from fifth or sixth generation copies of the original recording. In contrast, Mobile Fidelity LPs are mastered from the original master tapes, for the most accurate representation of the original recording. It is also mastered at half-speed, allowing twice as much time for the cutting system to capture every conceivable detail and nuance from the master tape. This produces much more head room, with superior dynamic range, better top-end, superior frequency response and improved stereo separation. No transformers were used during mastering and limiting is never employed, so nothing has been introduced that could cause distortion or squeeze sonic life out of the recording.

The album is pressed on 180 gram weight super vinyl, which in contrast to standard LPs has almost no surface noise and a much longer life span. The overall result is arguably the best sounding commercial release of this album ever available - the next best thing to having been in the recording studio during the original sessions! Presented with the usual Mobile Fidelity deluxe packaging treatment, which includes high quality original artwork sleeve, cardboard inner stiffener and rice paper inner sleeve.
