Good day to all

Music Hall LLC was founded in April 1985. It is a company dedicated to manufacturing, importing and distributing well priced, top quality, high-end audio components. Its emphasis is almost exclusively 2-channel (stereo); a rarity in this day of iPods and multi-channel products. It has grown over the years to become one of the pre-eminent distribution and manufacturing companies in the industry. Music Hall manufactures its own range of turntables in the Czech Republic. These are produced in a factory that has been making turntables for over 50 years. All Music Hall turntables come fitted with arms, cartridges and dust covers. They consistently make the "Recommended Components" list in Stereophile Magazine.

In the followup to the award winning MMF 5, the basic design remains the same: A two-speed, belt driven turntable with a dual plinth, Teflon coated noise-free main bearing, an isolated asynchronous motor, and all-manual operation. This update simply focuses on isolating the core components even further, both from each other and from the environment. Most significantly, the MMF 5.1 now uses the Pro-Ject 9 Tonearm, the same arm that was used on the MMF 7. Made from a single piece of aluminum, this arm boasts high-rigidity, with the rear stub slightly lowered, leveling the de-coupled counterweight’s center of gravity with the stylus tip. The wire inside the arm has also been replaced with a higher grade of copper. The glass platter has been removed in favor of an alloy platter, weighing half as much with stronger dampening properties. To isolate the platter further, Music Hall added a set of adjustable vibration-dampening feet. Gone are the integrated RCA cables, and in their place is a junction box, allowing you to use your own interconnects. A quality set of RCA cables is still included in the box. All of these changes are implemented in a unique but proven dual-plinth design, with the top plinth isolated from the base by a set of Viso-elastic cones. This innovation, combined with tried-and-true isolating elements, will give a darker backdrop to the sound, keeping unwanted noise out while letting rich detail seep into the sonic image. The gloss-black finish adds a beautiful aesthetic touch to this brilliantly crafted turntable.

Product Reviews:

The Music Hall MMF-5 is a Stereophile Recommended Class D Component! October 2001, Vol.24 No.10, Page 74, Michael Fremer (Vol.23 No.7)
Split-plinth design with visco-elastic cones and discs to isolate bearing/platter/arm from motor. Plug-n-play, says MF, offering azimuth and VTA adjustment that the Rega Planar 2 and 3 don’t have, even if their overall build is slightly better. MF called it a "pleasant" design, both aesthetically and sonically. It'll make an analog believer out of the most doctrinaire digital fanatic. Warm, sweet, open, and coherent, a gateway drug into the intoxicating world of analog...Get hooked. You'll never go back.

Soundstage Review Music Hall MMF-5
When it comes to overall performance, to my ears, the sonic nod has to go to the Music Hall MMF-5... You get so much music for the money that it is downright ridiculous. Though the Pro-ject 'arm may ultimately fall short of the RB250 as a standalone product, in this particular application it more than holds its own, perhaps due in part to the more sophisticated base and commensurate isolation. The total system synergy that you get with the MMF-5 translates into heightened low-bass performance, increased dynamics, greater resolution and remarkably enhanced low-level detail. While I am a big fan of the Rega products, I find the Planar 2 and 3 to be somewhat reticent in those particular areas. The MMF-5 is a highly involving, remarkably musical little turntable.

The Absolute Sound Editor's Choice Award Winner for 2005 & 2006!
"Music Hall's integrated turntable package provides the LP lover with a warm, musically engaging, and affordable vinyl playback solution. Its bass isn't the most defined, and it's a bit forward in the upper midrange, but the Music Hall is an outstanding value" - The Absolute Sound, October 2006, Issue 165
