Vintage Tube Testers anyone?
Hi, I have bought one Hickok 6000A tube tester and wonder anyone has experience with such testers. While I know that these vintage instruments cannot compare with modern microprocessor controlled ones (very expensive), they do give some comparative figures of the tubes' condition.
I do not have many tubes in use (only phono and 2 line stages) so the instrument is left idling most of the time. Besides the usual checks for shorts, the instrument measures Mutual Conductance. It can also check for "gas" and "Life" of a tube.
As it is not put to good use, I can let you use it for free, if you bring your tubes over. If anyone has tubes of unknown "condition" and would like to check them for your own record or for matching please contact me.

Picture of my Hickok 6000A in action testing a 6922 tube. So far, except for one gentleman who is interested, nobody else is keen on the offer to test their tubes for free....

Re: Vintage Tube Testers anyone?
Hi, sorry, the contact number is 017-3610218. Location : Puchong, Selangor. Call or sms to make appointment. The tester can test preamp & power tubes. Bring your tubes along with some labelling & notebook (if many tubes) and I will give you the basic instructions (and manuals) and leave you to do your own testing.
For those interested to test your tubes, please check your tubes against the datasheet to make sure it is listed and to know the parameters/settings here :
