Krell KAV 250p & 150a amps - SOLD

Since the introduction of the company's first product - the KSA-100 stereo amplifier, the Krell brand has stood for the uncompromising pursuit of perfection in audio reproduction.  Subsequent Krell amplifiers are massively built with enormous power, and holds the distinction being able to drive speaker loads down to below 1 ohm such as the Apogee ribbon speakers.

Up for sale here is the so-called "Baby Krell" mainly because of it's 150 watts per channel output - "baby" when compared with it's bigger powered siblings! The first thing one notices when the KAV 150a is driving the loudspeakers is the grace and the kindness pre & power has, and the way it offers the music to the listener. The Krell combo's performance is eminently musical, gentle, liquid almost tube-like but with the muscles of Arnold Schwarzenegger, ready to explode whenever & whatever the music dictates!!  The reviewer from TNT raved that "It is like a sweet cat who loves caresses but is always ready to ... bite .. and at an instance. It is suddenly clear it is a 150 watts power amp doubling into 300 watts per channel into 4 ohms, no doubt about this power on demand, but this large amount of power is delivered with ease and grace, and there's no trace of aggressiveness in the sound of the KAV 150a."
