Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2 floorstand speaker ( new )

Bower & Wilkins have revised their 600 line of speakers, bringing in engineering from other ranges as well as advances specific to the series. The 683 S2 features a decoupled double dome tweeter- technology evolved from the CM10 speaker. The double dome design uses an extremely thin aluminium dome for lightness, surrounded by a thicker aluminium ring for rigidity. It’s also physically separated from the body of the speaker in its own gel-filled cavity, to shield it from unwanted resonances or vibrations.

The 683 S2 also features a new bass driver construction method, using a similar method of bracing to the tweeter with twin layers of aluminium for richer, distortion-free bass response. As well as these new driver construction techniques, the 683 S2 has a Kevlar midrange driver.
