KL International AV Show 2010

the main attraction of this year's edition of the KLIAV will be the launch of 3D TV. big boys like sony, panasonic and samsung have booked the big rooms for their demos.

date: july 23-25
venue: j.w. marriott hotel, kl

tickets: RM10

I am hoping to see 3D FHD projector. Sony has been absent from KLIAV for as long as I could remember. Its comeback definitely have to do with the launch of 3D.

Samsung already in the lead with its 'early' campaign.

Btw, hoping to see Panasonic's new BDP with dual HDMI output.

Any exhibitor's list available ? Kind of mildly interested if 2 channel high end manufacturers are going to exhibit

i am not so sure about rave (wilson benesch, weiss, stello, jadis, ear, etc) though.

Life has been quite hectic lately...at least till end-Sept. However, we can try to do teh-tarik during one of the show days if you wish. Let me round-up our fellow moderators and see if that's possible.

How do we know who is who if we have not met? Name tag on t shirt?

No need name tag lah.... you know me, i know you, i introduce him to you, you introduce others, that why some time we have home visit to each others... (maybe we need to print Hifi4sale.net T-shirt and get some sponsor from Normen Audio, CMY, Asia Sound etc... )

Its good to have a gathering at this year hifi show as i am a new member n had missed the last inaugural gathering last yr

so will our moderator organised a gathering at this yr show where we can get to know each other n have our hifi talkings?

Hi Hi-Fi 4 Sale, it is glad that there will be different timing for gathering. 23rd is working Friday, 25th is family Sunday :-( So, best day for me is 24th :-) I've schedule to 5pm is because of most of us finishing the show before 5pm, and after the gathering can leave for dinner.

Thanx dylan, maybe I will wear a cap with roses, hair too short too selit any flowers Bringing along my Brit mate who has been missing hi fi sound because of his work here (note wearing flowers either coz he's 'Botak' . Likely to be there on 25th with family tagging along to KL but let em' wives (and mum-in-law) to go Pavillion, Lot 10 etc. maybe with a small budget minus the CC.

Anyway, hope to bump into kakis...

Regrettably I am unable to join this year hifi gathering due to earlier commitment on this date but I may try to pop by the KLIAV show in the Sat morning hours till noon.

looks like this will be the star attraction of the KLIAV 2010.

Audio Note's top-range CDT5 CD transport and Audio Note DAC5, FM Acoustics FM 268 Line Stage, two pairs of the FM 111 monoblocks and an FM 411 MkII power amp, and Avantgarde Uno Nano G2 speakers.

It costs a few hundred thousand ringgit and everyone will want to find out how it sounds.

go to room 8008, level 8 of j.w. marriott. i will certainly b there.

Just to let u guys know that the manger system has being setup yesterday (wed)evening and the final fine touch will be done this afternoon(thu). The hotel room acoustics is one hell of mess, that much i can tell u! We have tried to do the tuning without any bass/tube traps, no acoustic panels or tuning devices. So u would be listen to the manger speakers as it is. Do drop into room 8034 to say hello.

The manger room is 8034 just a few doors away from Jo Ki's LS3/5a room at 8040. The Audio Note and FM acoustics will also be in level 8.

Please note that was my mistake. I thought the outside corner cafe which is facing the HSBC Bank is Starbucks, actually it is Dome Cafe.

It seems not bad as we have 4 participants for this HIFI gathering during KLAVS 2010. :-) You know la, we are all Malaysian, always last minute to settle things. So hope to meet all those unvisible men popping in at very last minute.

Just went to the AV show just now, Jo Ki (3/5a & FM)setup is good, CMY naim setup is good. FM & audio note must not miss.

anyway, i think the DOME is change to ZARA now, must think of other places.

Oh no, have to change the venue again! Sorry, I've never been Bukit Bintang for so long, so many changes happened.

OK, we will move to the McD along the Jalan Bukit Bintang, it is a huge one, multi-storey building. The direction is after exiting from JW Marriot Hotel, follow the path towards to Lot 10, when reaching the Lot 10 on your left, stop there and look right 45 degree, you will see the McD. Finally, cross the traffic lights to there. This journey will take you roughly 5-10 mins.
