Subwoofer Around Rm1000

Post by dheensay on Thu Apr 22, 2010 11:55 am

As the topic implies, i am looking for a decent sub to complete my AV system. I know the budget is not much, so I am open to ideas. Room dimensions are 22'x18'x10'H Ceilings, so sub has to be >10".

Uncle Vic,
Something about multiple sub-system?

Multiple subs are for those who dare 'to go where no man has been'!
Don't try this at home without proper supervision!

Nice to know that you are coming back, Uncle Vic.

To play multiple subs, what kind of "proper supervision" needed?
A pair of calibrated Fletccher-Munson Ears?
Just kidding. lol!

Welcome back.

Uncle Vic.

Do you mean you are always hand on but without knowledge?
So pity. Sad
Why not post your technical questions here?
Other who are more knowledgeable and more experience in audio will willing to help you instead of you keep on hit the wall by trial and error only.

Be careful, dun try to teach something wrong and funny (maybe your new theories) to someone new. There is Karma according to Buddhism.
lol! lol! lol!

PM me for details if you'd like one for less than RM500. It can suffice basic subwoofer duties but not in the league of MK, Rel or others costing thousands.

I recently got myself a used sub500 Infinity RS10 from here. Other than recent connection problem which was rectified, it works ok. I am not those basshead, but bass is good in music and movies for sure.

For that price it seems like a good item to be used as a multisub system too. Strictly for those who are in tight budget !

Thanks guys. I am keen on something decent lah, to pair with
1. Marantz sr8001
2. Energy take classics

I dont want to have to fork out money again within the next 3 years because renovations have already burnt a deep hole in my pocket.

So i guess if i can manage to get
1. REL
2. Velodyne
3. DALI
4. MK
for around 1.2k, I will be glad. Please help.

Hi Hakim,
Unfortunately, I cant stretch any further. Already over budget with renovations to the home.

Amir,
Dont think the sub will do well with my marantz/energy take set-up, but thanks for the offer.
