Dali EPIKORE 11 launched in Malaysia

MALAYSIAN audiophiles have had the pleasure of experiencing Dali's flagship KORE speakers in the the past year. Now comes the EPIKORE 11. The new model, slotted between the top-of-the-ranger and EPICON 8, was launched at Atlas Sound Malaysia in The Gardens Mall on October 21.

Dali's regional sales manager Raj TB said the Danish manufacturer adhered to the same design philosophy that was applied to the KORE, covering eight different aspects – craftsmanship, low losses, holographic sound imaging, time coherence, wide dispersion, clarity, low cabinet resonance and amplifier optimisation. The floorstanding EPICORE 11, at 89dB sensitivity, can be paired with any competent amp.

The 4.5-way design has four eight-inch SMC Gen-2 woofers, a 6.5-inch midrange unit, and a custom EVO K-hybrid high-frequency module featuring a 35mm soft-dome tweeter using paper and wood fibre and 55x10 HF ribbon element. These are housed in an elegant and luxuriously constructed cabinet of real wood veneer in high gloss black, maroon and walnut options. The SMC Gen-2 is derived from the KORE design to reduce any mechanical loss in the speaker magnet system and also reduce harmonic distortion.



Another unique design feature of the EPIKORE 11 is the application of "Floor Reflection Control" (FRC) which significantly reduces floor reflection cancellation and eliminates the cancellation in the critical 250-300Hz band of typical speakers. The result is a more natural reproduction of timbre and tonality in the lower midrange – in any room!
