AudioQuest's new distributor in Malaysia is Perfect Hi-Fi

If you're an audiophile, you're familiar with the name. The American audio cable manufacturer, founded by William Low, has been in the business of providing upgraded links between your hi-fi gear for more than four decades.

Low started off making custom audio wires for his small brick-and-mortar hi-fi store in the late 1970s. Realising it to be his way forward in the industry, he set up AudioQuest in 1980. A couple of years later, he even started selling phono cartridges.

Along the way, the company introduced a number of technologies in the quest to derive optimum performance from a hi-fi system. Among them were linear crystal conductors, HyperLitz construction and the Dielectric-Bias System (which changed notions of cable "break in" and dramatically reduced insulation-induced distortion).

The company also applied its expertise to cables for AV systems, including HDMI.

Taking a step in another direction was the portable DragonFly DAC in 2012, now in its second generation. In the subsequent years, we've seen headphones and power conditioners as well from AudioQuest. A whole industry of upgrades built around hi-fi and home theatre components.
