What Hi-Fi awarded their prestigious 5 star award to the Reference PowerKord in a round up of mains cables in their May 2009 issue.
For the group test What Hi-Fi opted for a 1 metre length with the optional silver Wattgate (W350i Ag) and in What Hi-Fi's own words the Reference PowerKord brought about "the biggest improvement of any of the products in this group". The results of the listening tests were "remarkable" and when it came to describing the effects the Reference had on music - "levels of detail, dynamics and clarity of sound are improved upon tenfold". On the Home Cinema front the Reference "gives images a serious boost in resolution and cleanliness"
