Re: Malaysia - Negeri Sembilan Audiophiles Group
Hey Max, precious metal & stones very expensive now man! Diamond cannot afford, what more the very rare black one! LOL! But I heard it's very smooth & detail, maybe some members cup of tea and I like it very much. I can also add a pair of balance cable in the mix too if you like and as COS said, don't ask what cable! And as usual, all need to bring unknown, unheard of, unseen before, unplugged cds to venue.Shall we do 'X-Ray' on gems like 'Platinum' and 'Black Diamond' for this
coming gathering? Lately, precious metals are the 'IN' thing lah. Gold
is already on its record high.

Hi htkaki,
Thank you so much for the picture, regarding the ABC, I would love to sit in and see how a computer expert handle this, whether it is audiophile class or not! HiiHi...
For what I know, a proper digital player is very important, if you are using the laptop or PC, please stop publishing it here. You would loose credentials by doing so. It is as if one is using CDrom of our laptop or PC to spin CD for shoot-out.
If we don't do that to 16x44.1, please understand the implication when you do this to HiRes!!

I am far off with IT and even handphone tech. Mugen can attest to that
I am using only netbook. Whatever CD Rom or those s/w makes me like a dinosaur.
I actually brought my Pioneer DVD-A / SACD player to the KLIAV. But, because of some setbacks, I decided not to use it. This one can pass kah?
Btw, someone need to bring a better DAC too. Bryston, perhaps since coming over.

But you as dinosaur? Cannot pass, you are too young!! Please don't underestimate the power of age!

Ha.. very funny Wong-Suk! I am just cautioning you, gentle reminder to make sure that you are not bringing your laptop+external power supply+filtering caps+bits & bobs hanging off it to play HiRes only. Old folks like us needs reminding sometimes yunno.

Uncle Jo,
So, without the laptop I am afraid we (you and I) will have to go stand in a corner while the fresh young up-to-date techno-savvy CAS crowd breezes past us !
I PM you on what I am thinking for the ABC ? I want to take revenge on this NSAG bargers for having too much fun without us old hags around ! So don't want to explain openly here, let them guess and frust a bit !

Wong Suk, you are not easy to get invited to our gathering lah. Jo did once and I bet there will be many more to come. Frust...? Afraid not so since we have Americano, I meant Americans for Sunday Special.
There will be no gathering next week as we are going to take a break. Most of NSAG members will be going for Raya holidays.
When we are back again, we might have European beauties for our gathering. Come è?

Ha..ha..yes! yes! Let the young NSAG punk frust a bit!! I am with you on this one! Show them so car-lar (colour) and let them respect uncles ar-bit!
Matters regarding ABC... the C required clear understanding of the Science before it can function properly. It is as demanding as vinyl playback, there is a lot of Science behind it before it can work well. Poorly conceived turntable scientifically will also works but it can never sound good. Similarly, just because a given machine can stream CAS, it does not means that you are "listening" to the HiRes; you simply listening to badly decoded HiRes thus giving wrong impression of what it is all about.
So far there is no writing about how to handle CAS machine properly in the web. But there are tons of materials on turntable by professors, Ph.D & mad scientists!
htkaki & COS, Americano or Eurobird are all OK, but are they served on French "Magic-lan"? I like this magic-lan; have you lost my CD or not:shock: ?

Htkaki,
You might want to test your KSA-monster first with these speakers before you sell the monster off. I remember them being very demanding on amplifier last time at Tat Chuan and my friend couldn't really get them to open up because he didn't have a 'strong' enough amp to handle them.

Btw, I did try out a pre amp which was also belongs to a friend. I found that it is quite nice and it somehow matched with the power amp that I had. However, I have very limited time to listen to it as I was too busy today.
I guess I can only sit down and listen to it on Tuesday since tomorrow will also be a busy day for me. Wednesday is the most important day of all. I need to complete my 'mission' in order not to fail someone's Queen and his Raya plan. No matter what, I have to get something if cant get everything, which is better than nothing
Someone has more options / choices to buy online already with his new acquisition

Nice colour and numbers. After the system gets into gear, the sound apparently improves with better refinement and becomes more transparent.

Quite right to name it as The Theater at Madison Square Garden since the seats are between 2,000 and 5,600 for concerts. Who is going for the 'HOT' seat? Remember to take photos since I won't be joining.

No worries. Will keep you posted. We have yet to set the date and time.
Just had a very brief listening session with the Martin Logan. Need time to set up and fine tune the position. Very anxious to listen to the ML when driven by something more powerful. Should have great potential. There is also a nice pre-amp standing by.
