Description:
The SQ 404 Speaker Stand Range are a Quad column design available with Wood or Steel support columns.
The solid hard wood columns are manufactured from solid Ash, Oak and Walnut. They are harvested from sustainable, professionally managed forests with finishes available including Natural, Oak, Cherry, Mahogany, Walnut and Black. The properties of wood help eliminate resonance from transmitting through the design and influencing the stand and speakers performance.
All of the Steel SQ 404 Speaker Stand Range are manufacture by the craftsman at Custom Design. The hand made and finished design includes 4mm welded inserts combined with M8 fixing bolts for total integrity. Hand polished steel plates and support columns reflect the attention to detail and standards of quality that Custom Design provide to all of their customers, we are manufacturers not importers.
The SQ 404 Steel Range are designed with 50mm square columns which can be filled easily with INERT FILLER. This will help prevent resonance from transmitting through the design and influencing the stands sound performance.
The performance of the stands can be further improved by the addition of our Acoustic Steel Top & Bottom Plates supplied as standard. The system works on the principle of constrained layer dampening, which is two sheets of the same material, which we have found to be the most efficient, bonded together with the patented polymer. The polymers viscoelastic properties converts kinetic energy to heat, preventing excessive resonance from effecting the performance of your equipment. Please reference the Acoustic Steel page to see how resonance is absorbed by combining our Acoustic Steel top plates and Inert Filler on a pair of RS 300 speaker stands.
The range is available in 610mm (24”) as standard but custom heights are available. The 8mm Clear Glass bases are British Safety Standard Toughened ( BS 6206 ) and provide an asethetically pleasing support or the 6mm Steel bases are available in Mercury or Black. Top support plates are 165 x 180 x 4mm.

Support columns are easily filled with our Inert Filler. The inert material is of a dense consistency, the angular particles, size and shape minimise the presence of voids, minimising resonance which is created in the speaker stand support column and also makes application very simple.
The benefits of mass loading speaker stands will be to enhance the performance of most speakers, especially bass frequencies.
