Pioneer AVR with Front Wide

Anyhow has any experience with Pioneer Front Wide? for 7.1 channel speakers, according to the manual instruction, I can setup 2 additional speakers with front wide or front height, I am just wondering, if my setup only 7 speakers, meant it will be 5.1 channel out with 2 front wide? Do I still need to setup 7.1 channel first then only place 2 additional speakers as front wide? Does it consider as 9.1 channel? Do I have to always use the front wide movie/front wide music after setup my speakers as front wide 7.1? How is the pioneer front wide setting compare with DSX for Audyssey? Feel free to comment anything. Thanks.
