Interconnect study Empty Interconnect study

Post by samazzah Fri Jun 29, 2012 4:49 pm

Gents/ ladies, you might find this interesting from another site. To cut a long story short, in the conclusion section it notes that it cannot categorically find advantages in more expensive interconnects versus cheaper ones. Different interconnects only serve to change the character only but the debate is open and as before others will argue this one to death (As I found out last time). Most importantly let science rule and not the comments from a single (or a couple of) manufacturer's site determine your decision.

Scientific evidence does not necessarily rule that any particular interconnect sounds good on paper as compared to actual sounds by listening. It goes back to human preferences.

These study is good as reference. If you think it is a myth, find a piece of wire by the road side and call it a your RCA, all you need is a conductor.
If you are a believer, match your system nicely, cable only a small part of it.

Hifi or music is a passion. No need science to tell you one sounds better than the other.

Same like you are passionate towards your partner. You dont need science to make you like your partner. Although chemistry is science isnt it? Smile

Interconnect study Empty Re: Interconnect study

Generally it's not the manufacturers that determine our decisions but our ears. Surely an overwhelming number of listeners cannot be wrong, psychoacoustics or perceptions aside.
The author does give correct advice in recommending more money to be spent on upgrading speakers than cables, but everybody knows that. However, for him to say that "cable quality is of very little consequence in audio systems" is stretching it too far. He should also know that if science is to be totally believed than surely our forefathers are apes, god cannot exist, valves should be buried and nobody listens to vinyl...
