Sony CDP-XA30ES disc reading issue

hi, need expertise help for this player. send to sony center to change laser module but still unable to detect disc. anybody can help out? they just inform me they didnt know the problem and asking me to take it back. pity to dump this beautiful player.

I know some one in Petaling Jaya selangor Tony, let me know if you want to come down from Penang to do the repair. Will probably take 2 trips, one to drop off player and one more trip to pick up. But he is very good. call Yap at Octave electronics at 03-79555755. Closed Fridays, and only open after about 12.30 until 7pm.

Hi, which part of Penang are you in? I might come home during the school holidays. My parents are in the island park area. Another question is that, are you willing to spend more money to restore this player knowing that the lenz is new - that means something more major is already wrong... might cost another few hundred bucks.

Hi Bal, thanks for the info.

Wikin, are you saying you can or know someone who can fix this? well, the technician couldnt find anything wrong. disc spinning just couldnt detect the disc. you know roughly how much will it cost? i can be reach @ 0164148669 and live in BM.
the set still in sony centre till today.

Hi Tony,

Yes I do cdp repairs and upgrades and in fact repairs on all hi-fi related items.

Oh you're staying in BM, I was hoping you're in the island area. Nevermind I'll pass this as it's a hassle for me to goto BM.
