In line with the growing market acceptance, Pioneer is equipping its new Blu-ray Disc players with full 3D Blu-ray Disc playback for a life-like action experience on a 3D-capable display. An HDMI output offers high definition connectivity for optimal integration in the most demanding HD audio and 3D video set-up.

Content and networking opportunities
The new Pioneer BDP-150 provides connectivity to a local network and the internet, opening up a host of new content and networking opportunities. In addition to an Ethernet port for regular wired integration, the player can connect easily to a wireless home network via an optional Pioneer AS-WL300 wireless LAN converter.
Being DLNA certified, playback² of audio, video and photo content stored on a compatible network Mac, PC or media server is also possible. Users cannot only enjoy content from a server using the player’s own GUI, content on a smartphone or tablet³ can also be selected using the mobile device itself.
The BDP-150 is capable of playing back Blu-ray Discs, DVDs, CDs and SACDs and offers compatibility with the most widespread video formats, including the smartphone specific 3gp file format, Flash video, DivX, DivX Plus HD and MKV from disc, USB and via a compatible network Mac, PC or media server. With audio, all key files are supported, from WMA to MP3 AAC and the lossless audio codec FLAC ⁴. Through the familiar user interface of the player, users will also be able to enjoy YouTube videos and watch Picasa photo albums.

Pioneer home cinema synergy
The BDP-150 is the ideal companion to Pioneer’s latest generation AV receivers. Connected to a recent Pioneer AV receiver via HDMI, the Blu-ray player completes the home entertainment experience by lifting both picture and sound quality from compressed Mac, PC and web files to a higher level, while Pioneer’s free control apps make it extremely easy to control both devices.
Sound Retriever Link and Stream Smoother Link communicate the relevant original file info of both audio and video and if necessary will enable a compatible Pioneer AV receiver to activate the Sound Retriever or Stream Smoother feature. The Sound Retriever feature enhances compressed audio files by restoring critical data lost during the compression process, while Stream Smoother enhances compressed video files to reduce compression noise and establish more detailed, finer images. The Stream Smoother technology is especially helpful with low bit-rate video sources originally intended for viewing on small screens such as smartphones.
The new Pioneer ControlApp and latest generation iControlAV2012⁵ App give users even more control of their Blu-ray player from the convenience of their smartphone. With Pioneer ControlApp and the iControlAV2012 app users can access menus, steer cursor navigation and perform basic operations such as Play, Stop, Forward and Reverse.
