ElusiveDisc online purchase for LPs

please share your experience and what shipping method did you choose?
any other recomendations to purchase LPs besides this webpage?

Just lock order for 10LPs yesterday with elusive disc which is my first time internet buying . Should be getting the goods in by this week (keeping my fingers cross). would keep you posted on delivery and packing.

Could'nt find most of the albums locally so taking the plunge.

I have bought many times from Elusive Disc. Very professional and their packaging is 1st rate (very important where LPs are concerned). I always go for the UPS 2 to 3 days shipping. Pricey but if you buy around 10 LPs, it works out like what our importers would sell anyway.

If you tell them to state the invoice to be below US100, you can get away with paying duties here, as well.

The best online experience I ever had on purchasing lps is from Acousticsounds..vast selections and excellent service..

Tempted to buy from Acousticsounds. What;s their shipping like? Who they use?

I;ve browse the two website above, but they do not have alot of chinese LP, if not none (Tsai Chin LP was there, but it's out of stock). Anyone know any trusted site that have chinese and japanese LP? Japanese LP like the japanese kodo drummer?

Hi, I haven't order from them for quite sometime but as far as I can remember, you have to order more than certain amount for International order. Last used to be USD70 (2-3 lps would already justify the amount). The shipping company is up to you..the USPS or Expedite international service by UPS/Fedex..etc.

But I used USPS instead with normal shipping and it's good enough, the packaging is good enough for safe delivery of LPs.

Received the goods yesterday in good condition yesterday. ExclusiveDisc did a great job on the packing but take note on the
10% tax on LPs. Perfect timing after the long wait my Amp just went kaput yesterday.

I'd always thought we can get away with packages worth less than RM1k ? How come you got taxed ? Did you buy a lot ?

I think he's slammed with 10% sales tax, although no import tax.
Also applies to turntable deck.

Its above 1k incl of freight & insurance so thats where the tax came in.

Yep, they lump the total cost and slam you 10% anyhow.

better than being whacked 35% like automotive car parts or worse, controlled items like cables .. this means interconnects and speaker cables sure will kena alot of tax one.

I've ordered lots of LPs before and never been taxed. I bought cartridge USD499, no tax as well...


maybe you can ask the seller to under state to lower price in custom declaration form. In my case I don't do that, but tried with other electronic items..and escaped.

LPs are categorized same as CDs right?
Coz CDs will not kena tax if the total delivery package value is not more than RM500.
Please highlight if my info is wrong.

We do carry lots of shipment for electronics and normally if you
underdeclare below RM500 then you should be able to avoid the tax.
Understood there's a change in ruling by custom, previously only the cost of goods are taxable but now they would incl the freight charges.
Nowdays everything taxable.
