Made In Japan

Third from the anniversary lineup : M-6000 first, M-4000 in between and M-2000 last.

The overall circuit is derived from the original M-6000 but placed in a much more... lodgeable enclosure.

Input is a 2-stage differential pure complementary circuit ; separating the Class A pre-driver stage and Class B output stage is an emitter-follower circuit with 2 transistors among which one is for constant current, thus preventing the former stage to be influenced by the latter stage's load conditions.

Power-supply comes from a (big) central transformer and two (bigbig) 10,000µF caps ; constant current also feeds the driver stage and output is done by a parallel push-pull of bipolar transistors.

The back heatsinks aren't the same as those of the 4000 or 6000 but make for two hefty blocks of aluminium just the same that need to cool 60mV of idling current each.

Meters are doubled-up with the average levels handled by the VU and the peak spots by the six added red LEDs.
These peaky LEDs can be switched to x10 scale or be turned off completely and this flashy addition was, visually, done very intelligently.

Input level pots (the "eyes" of the M-2000) allow to balance respective levels in optimal ranges for both preamplifier and amplifier between -10dB and 0dB in 1dB steps.

The M-2000 sold very well worldwide so it isn't rare.
For once, an amp is as easy to find as it is beautiful and beautifully sounding and reliable.
