Center speaker and Subwoofer Recommendation

Hi all,
I am a newbie in home audio system.
Recently I bought a Yamaha rx v 677 recevier amp and using it with 2 technics floor standing speaker.

I am now considering to add a center speaker and a subwoofer. If you have bought either of this recently do let me know if you recommend them so i can go have a look at them too as I got no idea how to start my search apart from price ?

For the centre speaker, it is recommended to get a matching Technics centre speaker. You will get a seamless dialogue integration with your existing front Technics floorstanding speakers.

For subwoofer, the hottest in the market now is SVS. Depending on your budget, there is a nicely spec-ed second hand unit in the sales section of this forum.

How about your surround speakers? No home theatre is complete without surround speakers.

Agreed on Ctr spkr being preferably same brand - l'd go further to say to use exactly de same model too ; meaning try n get a pair of de same speakers n use one..

Subs - ya .. SvS is a decent HT sub .. IMO a tad expensive now.. Also look up Rythmik too especially de 15 inchers - Not a slouch either n if not mistaken is a little cheaper..

On surrs.. if budget not an issue then try n get same model/brand/range as your LCR's but surrs are less critical n you could make do wif a cheaper satt [ of totally different brand ] - of cos if you can afford - a small bkshelf would be better..
