CAL Sigma 2 Tube DAC modifications
Greetings to all the Sifus and DIYers out there,
I am thinking of doing some mods/upgrade of my 10 year old DAC. I really like the sound (and it matches the rest of my system).
Anyone has some experience with this one?
Surfing the net, I only found a single DIY mode. That is how to improve the casing...not the electronics.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Re: CAL Sigma 2 Tube DAC modifications
No sifu here...
Some recommendations....
1.) You may do some tube rolling on the 12AX7 it uses.
2.) Change the output coupling caps to some FT-3 Russian Teflon caps.
3.) Since it's 10 years now, changing all the electrolytic caps might be a good idea.

Tube rolling
Thank you for quick reply and suggestions.
I have tried a few tubes and found the vintage Telefunken 12ax7 and new Sovtek 12ax7wxt+ the best.
Will try the coupling caps next.
Cheerio,
Muhsin

As per my experience you must use the tube rolling on the 12AX7.
Also try by changing the output coupling caps to some FT-3 Russian Teflon caps.
As per my knowledge changing all the electrolytic caps might be a good idea.
