In its heyday, the Meridian ranked equal to or above its counterparts typically exotic American products that often were more expensive,it should be understood by the buyer from the outset that this is a vintage unit, from ~1990, and as such faults, blemishes, scratches are to be expected given the age. Having said that, apart from that the unit is in good running condition.

Fast tracking,reliable optics.i have same spare optics.(peace of mind) same optics also can be used for Naim CDs/CDi /Philips CD 880.
It is described as having a smooth analogue sound and it has a depth and maturity that other players could not match. It is certainly an easy listen, seems to makes the best of the music. I like it very much, Why am I selling it? I have other CD players but to be honest I don't play Hi5 very often these days. I think it's time it went to someone who can appreciate more than I have time to.
