1.Jack DeJohnette & Foday Musa Suso - Music From The Hearts Of The Masters (Kindred Rhythm - Made in U.S.A)
Deep, mesmeric grooves and melodic wonder arise from the meeting of these two musical forces.
Foday Musa Suso, the innovative Griot and Kora master, is a tireless ambassador of African culture whose solo
work and collaborations with the likes of Philip Glass and Herbie Hancock are now considered classics.
Jack DeJohnette, one of Jazz music's greatest drummers, has been a part of countless musical milestones from
Miles Davis' Bitches Brew to last year's Grammy Nominated Out Of Towners with Keith Jarrett and Gary Peacock.
These two undisputed masters of their instruments create a sublime interplay and sound that encompasses world beat, global chill, and contemporary improvised music. DeJohnette's melodic approach to the drums wonderfully complements Suso's virtuosic kora playing, creating an inspired dialogue and a thrilling listening experience, music for musicians or just anyone who loves pure, un-diluted musical masterpiece!

2.Leon Parker - Belief (Columbia Made in U.S.A)
Intimate world music ranging from quiet folk songs with influences from several cultures that meets straight ahead jazz; the Jazz Standard "Close Your Eyes" has some fine saxophone work by Steve Wilson in a piano-less trio.Trumpeter Tom Harrell shines through-out and is tied along with trombonist Steve Davis and flutist Lisa Parker which form a interesting wood-wind section, meanwhile bassist Ugonna Okegwo shades this album with an africanes-que feel.Nice music which makes one look forward to Leon Parker's future project, and good start for those wish to embark into the interesting genre of world music via jazz.

3.Alex Wilson - Afro Saxon (Candid Jazz - Made in England)
Pianist Alex Wilson is totally at ease with his "Afro Saxon" lineage, having been born in Belper, Derbyshire to parents of English and Sierra Leonean ancestry.Variety is the spice of life! - well there is plenty of variety and spice to savour in this debut album. Check out Alex's arrangement skills throughout('Hurtin' Me,' and 'Nature Boy') and his steamingly percussive playing, on 'Aria Baby.'

Paul Jayasingha's hot, flowing flugelhorn on 'Africa is da Place For Me,' is a highlight by itself,
The Legendary Bobby Watson's Alto Saxophone's fearsome solo on 'Little Suede Shoes' and lyricism on 'Sophisticated Lady', reiterates that, variety is the spice of life!

Ciyo demonstrates on Baracara Island what an underrated artist he is and one can only wonder at the collective rhythmic pulses achieved by David Giovannini, Thomas akura Dyani and the other rhythm players. The two oustandting vocalists on this disc are Gwyn Jay Allen and Lauren Dalrymple, Jazz Meets South America Via Massive Globe Trekking.
